Project Summary

This narrative is a summary for project the "Repaint home back deck level" to show all details on how good or bad this project was conducted throughout it's lifecycle. A brief background for this project is to Subcontract local business to repaint back deck from the house. Current Paint is peeling off. New deck should be scrub and remove paint and stain with a cedar color. This project was been ran by Zarah Vazquez Ortiz as the Project Manager. The project budget overrun the planned/expected budget by $1,000.00 more. This project has been set as "Archived" and the project results was Failure.


On Wednesday, July 15, 2020, during Executing phase an issue was identified as Damage to wood floor and rails. . Team was not using proper equipment or process to remove old paint. was the problem/success occured while executing previous mentioned phase. This issue will have an impact towards knowledge area Project Procurement Management by During removal at execution phase, the team members removing the paint were using a power drill instead of sanding or pressure the floor with paint removal product.. The team came together to had the best reccomendation for this issue by Before starting the team should let know the owner which process should I select instead guessing going with the cheaper method. The business owner thought I want to cheapest way, which turn out to be more expensive. This lesson log will not have a follow-up. to make sure it doesn't occur again.


On Tuesday, January 5, 2021, during Executing phase an issue was identified as Wrong Paint Ordered and logged by Joel . No Cedar color utilized. was the problem/success occured while executing previous mentioned phase. This issue will have an impact towards knowledge area Project Quality Management by Working team has to repaint over previous color used.. The team came together to had the best reccomendation for this issue by verify with customer that sample of color is correct before applying color to wood. This lesson log will be follow-up by Joel Jacobson. to make sure it doesn't occur again.

Instead of stain it was paint and dark brown instead of cedar.

Business employee want to cut corners and do everything as cheap as possible.
