When ever you started executing a project there should a discipline on collecting often lesson learned of all the occurances from all corners. THis will facilitate during a project status update to pull in all lesson learned gathered at that meeting point.

Providing such list of details of all lesson learned we can analyze the good and the bad during that period block of the reporting status of the project. Let say a recurring brief for project status update is conducted biweekly, so at this point all lesson learned collected in that time frame should be bring to the table and shared across the leadership and all staff involved in the project closely to how we can improved those area that were bad and continue cinsistency with those area that were good.

This what we call small session for lesson learned:

  1. Identify the phase of the ocurrance
  2. Identify area of impact if is down to the work package or at milestone
  3. Ask several questiones: what went right? what whent wrong? what needs improvement?
